Bank Holiday Monday
As we watch the rain fall, we know that this is the end of the Summer Holiday and that it will soon be ‘business as usual’. It’s time to put the finishing touches to the new timetable, to accommodate the changes in school, college or job that so often occur at this stage in the year. Only a very small number of spaces remain for violin or recorder lessons – I wonder how soon they will all be filled with new students!
On September 12th the London Recorder Orchestra starts the rehearsals for the new season. I’m really looking forward to starting work on the new programme – plenty of variety there!.
On the same day there will be meetings of both the Lincolnshire branch of the Society of Recorder Players and also the branch in South London. This season will very exciting for me, with invitations to conduct both in Glasgow and in Dublin – in addition to regular visits to London and across the Midlands.
Rehearsals also begin again for Lincoln Music Workshop Recorder Group with a change in venue and slight changes in personnel. I’m looking forward to trying out plenty of new music with the group – possibly some of the latest offerings from Willobie Press.
Lincoln Symphony Orchestra will be starting rehearsal for their next concert, to be held on 14th November. There is also an additional Workshop day on 27th September – do check on their website for further details.
Don’t you just love September?
